Getting a good scan
- Stand about two metres from the phone, with the camera roughly at chest height, and lean it against something so it does not tilt. A tilted phone tilts the measurement.
- Wear something that shows your outline — a bulky hoodie hides the shoulder and hip points the app needs to find.
- Stand side-on for the side photo, arms relaxed, looking straight ahead. Do not correct your posture for the camera; the point is to measure how you actually stand.
- Shoot from a similar distance and angle every time. The trend is only meaningful when the setup is repeatable.
“No pose detected”
The app could not find enough body landmarks. Usually it is light — move somewhere brighter or away from a window behind you — or the frame is too tight; step back so your whole body from head to ankle is inside it.
The AirPods monitor
The all-day coach reads head pitch from the motion sensors in AirPods (3rd generation, Pro or Max). Earlier AirPods and other headphones have no motion sensors, so the feature cannot work with them.
If the monitor will not start:
- check the AirPods are connected to this iPhone and playing to it;
- turn on iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness, and Motion & Fitness for PostureLab;
- keep the session open in the app or leave audio running — iOS suspends motion delivery when nothing keeps the app alive.
Reminders and alerts
Desk-break reminders run on the schedule you set in Settings — interval, active hours and weekdays. If nothing arrives, check that notifications are allowed for PostureLab in iOS Settings and that a Focus mode is not silencing them.
Subscriptions
Pro is an auto-renewable subscription billed through your Apple Account. To cancel: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → PostureLab AI → Cancel. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
Restoring on a new device: Settings → Restore purchases in the app, signed in with the same Apple Account. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, since we never receive the payment.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete all my datapermanently erases every scan, photo, measurement and session from your iPhone. It cannot be undone, and there is no copy anywhere else — nothing was ever uploaded.
Accuracy, honestly
The measurement is photogrammetric: angles computed from body landmarks in a photo. It is good at tracking your own change over time under a repeatable setup. It is not a clinical assessment, and it does not diagnose anything. If you are in pain, see a professional — and feel free to bring the trend chart with you.
